Thailand Earthquake Relief Program 2025: Financial Aid, Housing Support & Application Guide
In response to the recent earthquake, the Thai government has launched a nationwide disaster relief initiative to support affected residents. Announced on April 6, 2025, by Deputy Government Spokesperson Ms. Sasikan Wattanajan, the program delivers emergency funding for housing repairs, rental assistance, medical expenses, and livelihood recovery. Victims are urged to submit their applications within 30 days of the incident.
Key Government Assistance Measures for Earthquake Victims
The relief package, coordinated by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and local district authorities, includes the following forms of aid:
1. Home Repair Support
- Up to ฿49,500 per household for rebuilding or fixing earthquake-damaged houses or condos.
2. Rental Subsidy for Unsafe Housing
- If your home is declared unsafe and you're not staying at a government shelter, you can claim ฿3,000/month (max 2 months, total ฿6,000).
3. Funeral and Death Benefits
- Families of deceased victims will receive ฿29,700.
- An additional ฿29,700 is provided if the deceased was the household's main income earner.
4. Medical Support for the Injured
- Serious injuries: ฿4,000 with a medical certificate.
- Disability due to the earthquake: ฿13,300.
- Minor injuries: ฿2,300 per person.
5. Income Restoration Grant
- Households can apply for up to ฿11,400 to restart small businesses or regain employment.
